The most important projects defined by the Director Plan and the Strategic Plan of the Port of Vilagarcía to carry out in during the next years are, in order of execution, the following:

• Esplanade of service to the Commercial Quay, that allows to obtain 24.270 square meters of surface and it has a budget of 1,32 millions of euros. (Finished). Work financed with F.E.D.E.R. funds.
  
  
  
• Ferrazo Wharf, which allows to obtain a birth line of 910 meters of length and a surface of 82.000 square meters, with a budget of 23 million Euros. Work financed with F.E.D.E.R. funds.
  
  
  
• Enlargement of the West Commercial Quay, that allows to obtain a berth line of 250 meters of length and a surface of 12.352 square meters, with a budget of 3,61 millions of euros.
  
  
  
• Complete railway link with an interior access to every quay of the port.
  
  
  
• Maritime station in the Ramal Wharf.
  
  
• Dredging of the channel of entry and turning circle.
  

Reorganization of the Port Uses

The new geometry of Vilagarcía Port brings with it a complete and rational reorganization of the different traffics, which will be distributed in the following way:

• The liquid bulk Terminal is located in Ferrazo Quay, with 11 meters of depth and 250 meters of length, with a Ro-Ro ramp at the South side.
• The Solid bulk Terminal is placed in the enlargement of the Commercial Quay, with the convenient depth in the West side and it uses the Ramal Quay with 250 meters of length for the traffic of cereals and any other bulk.
• The multipurpose Terminal for general merchandise is located in the new breakwater, with 13 meters of depth, 500 meters of berth line and 8,3 Ha. of surface suitable for all the different traffics, containers included.
• The frozen and perishable products Terminal is placed in Comboa Quay, with a length of 400 meters and links with the cold store industry.
• The Passengers Teminal in the Ramal Quay, with 250 meters of length.
